This is a heavy duty N-type Thermocouple for use in kiln and furnace applications. The probe is made from AWG 8 Gauge thermocouple wire and is rated for continuous use at very high temperatures up to 2500 °F Fahrenheit or 1370 °C Celsius. The N-type thermocouple is available from 2 to 8 inch in insulated length. The tip is an additional 0.5 inch and the uninsulated mounting length is about 2 inch. A connector plate for wiring the probe to your N-type thermometer or a Type-N PID temperature controller is included.

This type N Thermocouple Kiln Probe is made with ceramic insulators, each about 1 inch long, and it allows you to adjust the probe length by removing insulator elements and shortening the wire to your exact requirement.

This N-type thermocouple is frequently used in ceramic ovens, kilns and furnaces, in pottery ovens, metal working, manufacturing and whenever you need to measure and control very high temperatures. N-type thermocouples are also very useful in situations when hydrogen and low oxygen is present. In these situations K-type thermocouples can experience green-rot. Type N thermocouples are especially designed to withstand hydrogen. It is also useful in low oxygen environments such as pellet furnaces or wood pyrolizers.
