  • Outer thermocouple wire diameter is oval, 0.051 x 0.087 inch or 1.3 x 2.2 mm

This is a K-type thermocouple probe with high temperature Kapton polyimide polymer insulation. It can be used in many applications up to about 752 degree Fahrenheit (400 degree Celsius), and since it is a plastic insulation it is easy to clean.

This Type K precision thermocouple can be used with any handheld digital K-type thermometer with a miniature K-type thermocouple connector. The quality mini thermocouple plug (2 flat blades) is yellow and has a white labeling field.

K-type thermocouples with Kapton insulation have an excellent abrasion resistance, they are moisture stable and resistant to all solvents and many chemicals. The Kapton polyimide is also UV and radiation stable. It therefore can be used outdoors or in high radiation environments and space. Kapton is a great electrical insulator used in electrical motors, as kapton tape and in flexible circuit boards in the electronics industry. It has very little volatile components and is suitable for high vacuum.

With these unique properties these Type K thermocouples are widely used in laboratories, general research and development,  in nuclear research, the electronics industry and even on satellites. There are also many industrial and manufacturing applications that use Kapton thermocouples. This sensor is frequently used in battery labs for the development of electronics, car and stationary battery packs

Kapton polyimide is self extinguishing and has the highest UL-94 flammability rating V-0.
