N-type Thermocouple Wire

This is a N-type thermocouple wire with braided fiberglass insulation, which is good up to about 400 C or 750 F. This N-type thermocouple wire can be used to make your own thermocouple probe for a wide range applications up to 750 F, or to make your own thermocouple extension wire. As extension wire it can transmit the signal over the full range of N-type thermocouples, to 2500 degree F. It can be used for ovens, furnaces, kilns and machines. Great for science projects! The wire is made to standard N-type thermocouple specifications. It is sold in 1 yard increments, so if you order 10 units of this, you will receive a single 10 yard long wire.
Type N thermocouple wire is used in applications with low oxygen levels (reducing environment) and when hydrogen gas or hydrogen containing compounds are present. Unlike Type K wire this Type N wire will not show green rot in the presence of hydrogen.
